Learning to Trust God: 7-Day Daily Devotional
Day 1 — When You Cannot See the Way
Scripture
“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.” — Proverbs 3:5 (KJV)
Have you ever reached a point in life where you know you need to move forward, but you cannot see what lies ahead? Perhaps you are waiting for an answer to prayer, worried about your finances, facing uncertainty about your future, or wondering why God has allowed certain things to happen. You are not alone.
Trusting God does not mean you understand everything He is doing. It means believing that His wisdom is greater than yours, even when His direction is unclear.
Think about a child walking through a dark room while holding a parent's hand. The child may not see the way, but the parent's presence provides confidence. In the same way, God does not always reveal the entire journey; sometimes, He simply asks us to trust Him with the next step.
You do not need to have your whole life figured out today. You need to know the One who holds your future.
Today's practical step: Identify one situation that is making you anxious. Pray about it, write down Proverbs 3:5, and consciously surrender that concern to God today.
Tomorrow devotional: What happens when your feelings tell you one thing, but God's Word tells you another?
Prayer
Heavenly Father, help me to trust You when I cannot understand my circumstances. Remove every doubt and fear from my heart. Teach me to depend on Your wisdom rather than my limited understanding. Lead me in the right direction, in Jesus' name. Amen.
