Learning to Trust God

Day 2 — Trusting God Beyond Your Feelings

Scripture

“for we walk by faith, not by sight” ‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭5‬:‭7‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Feelings are real, but they are not always reliable guides.

There are days when you feel strong in faith and believe that everything will work out. Then there are days when fear whispers that nothing will change. You pray, but the situation remains the same. You believe, but your heart still feels troubled.

Does this mean you have failed to trust God? Not necessarily.

Faith is not the absence of uncomfortable feelings. Faith is choosing to hold on to God's Word even when your emotions are unsettled. Abraham had to believe God's promise without seeing its fulfilment immediately. Likewise, your present circumstances do not have to determine your confidence in God's character.

You may feel weak today, but God's faithfulness has not weakened. You may feel uncertain, but His promises have not changed.

Today's practical step: Whenever a negative thought arises today, pause and find a biblical truth that speaks to it. Replace “Nothing will ever change” with a prayerful reminder that God remains faithful.

Tomorrow devotional: What should you do when you pray and God seems silent?

Prayer

Father, help me not to be controlled by fear, anxiety, or discouragement. Strengthen my faith and teach me to stand upon Your Word, even when my feelings tell me otherwise. In Jesus' name. Amen.
